The Realme XT is going down in history as the first smartphone to be released in India with a 64MP camera. Being a next phone released after the Realme 5 Pro, the XT is packing an AMOLED screen on top of the attractive glass design with Gorilla glass protection and quad-camera setup. It has a USB Type-C port, a triple slot for two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card. A Dedicated SIM slot is a great advantage when compared to its competitor.
The Realme XT feels premium and the back doesn’t attract many fingerprints as it is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. So it can withstand some accidental drop to some height. The in-display fingerprint sensor is so fast and quick you can’t see much lag in that.
The Realme XT, while named as a successor to the X, is more of a combination of Realme X and Realme 5 Pro. The XT keeps the Super AMOLED screen and cool glass design but goes with a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera rather than a pop-up module which is available in Realme X.
Realme XT comes with the same Snapdragon 712 chip as the Realme 5 Pro, and a very similar four-camera setup – a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP portrait snappers. The Main camera setup consists of 64MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 Quad-Bayer sensor and that’s among the first smartphone released in the market. This captures crisp pictures in most lighting conditions and maintains pretty good details while in zooming.
It has the same 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor as on the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro. Video recording in 4K is good but in the low light condition, it could have been better.
The phone also runs on ColorOS 6.0.1 on top of the Android 9 Pie.
Realme XT housed with a 4000mAh battery that does a good job, lasting an entire day on one charge for heavy usage. The Realme XT model comes packed with a 20W VOOC charger and the enhanced USB-C cable needed for the VOOC charging to work properly. Thanks for fast charging we can charge our phone within an hour.
The XT retail box also contains a soft transparent case if you want to keep the back scratch-free for as long as possible.
The Realme XT also comes with a (very thin) screen protector even though it is rocking a Gorilla Glass 5 on top of its OLED. Instead of giving screen protector many of the manufactures give only marketing stickers.
The Realme XT is perfect, for the given price. The design is a premium, there’s a punchy AMOLED display on offer, the phone has solid performance, and the camera is superb for the price. There is nothing serious to complain about that’s why is mostly bought in the midrange segment.
And should you wait for the Realme XT 730G? If gaming is your top priority, then perhaps Yes. Otherwise, the experience should be similar and satisfying with the SD 712 will save you some money.
